Queensland Education, Training and Employment Minister John-Paul Langbroek today presented the first family day care service in Australia to receive the Excellent rating with their award.
The Excellent rating is awarded by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and is the highest rating a children’s education and care service can achieve under the National Quality Framework (NQF).
At a special event held today, Wynnum Family Day Care was presented the official Excellent rating certificate and award by Minister Langbroek and ACECQA Board Chair, Rachel Hunter.
Minister Langbroek congratulated Wynnum Family Day Care on their outstanding achievement as being the first family day care centre in Australia to be awarded the Excellent rating.
“Wynnum Family Day Care has demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement to education and care services by implementing a range of collaborative initiatives with families, the community and local businesses that support children’s development, learning and wellbeing,” Mr Langbroek said.
ACECQA Board Chair Rachel Hunter said this is a great outcome for the children and families who use this service.
“The Excellent rating is an important part of the NQF and encourages services to continue to raise the bar on quality.
“I encourage children’s education and care services across Queensland who have received an overall rating of Exceeding to apply for the Excellent rating,” Ms Hunter said.
Family Day Care Australia Chief Executive Officer Carla Northam said the top rating was recognition of Wynnum Family Day Care’s unwavering commitment to high quality early childhood education and care.
“We congratulate Wynnum Family Day Care on this incredible achievement and couldn’t be more proud of our most outstanding and inspiring service, who is leading the way in family day care,” Ms Northam said.
“The rating is acknowledgement of Wynnum Family Day Care's dedication to assisting and supporting their educators in the provision of quality child care.
“We know there will be many more family day care services around the country following in Wynnum Family Day Care’s footsteps now as our sector continues to strive for quality outcomes for Australian children.”
Three Queensland education and care services have received the Excellent rating.
