9 out of 10 services meet or exceed the National Quality Standard
The proportion of children’s education and care services rated Meeting National Quality Standard (NQS) or above remains at 90%, according to the latest NQF Snapshot report released by ACECQA today. The report presents quality rating results and other data about services operating under Australia’s National Quality Framework (NQF).
“This is the second quarter in a row that 90% of education and care services are rated Meeting NQS or above. This is an impressive feat given the significant growth in the sector and the high quality standards against which these services are assessed,” said ACECQA CEO Gabrielle Sinclair. “The substantial rise in the proportion of services meeting or exceeding quality standards since the introduction of the NQF in 2012 demonstrates the sector’s commitment to continuous quality improvement, and providing safe, healthy and inclusive learning environments.”
The Snapshot is supplemented by an interactive Online Snapshot which includes additional data, as well as downloadable versions of the data used.
NQF-regulated children’s education and care services include long day care, outside school hours care and family day care services, as well as most preschools and kindergartens.
