Announcement of ACECQA CEO departure
The Acting Chair of the ACECQA Board, Judy Hebblethwaite announced today that ACECQA’s inaugural CEO, Karen Curtis has advised the Board that she will not seek re-appointment when her current appointment concludes at the end of the year.
On behalf of the Board, Ms Hebblethwaite thanked Ms Curtis for her outstanding contribution and significant achievements in establishing and leading ACECQA for five and a half years, working collaboratively with the states and territories and the Australian Government to successfully implement the National Quality Framework (NQF).
‘Ms Curtis was appointed in 2011, even before the first Board was appointed, and she established the organisation so it was able to meet all its statutory obligations when the NQF started on 1 January 2012. She has built ACECQA into a high performing organisation, and her leadership, energy and commitment to improving the quality of childhood education and care will be missed.’
There will be opportunities to farewell Karen later in the year.
In the meantime, the Board will now undertake a recruitment process with an expectation a new CEO will be appointed from 1 January 2017.
