Jescott Montessori Pre-school (JMP) has been awarded the Excellent rating, the highest a service can achieve under the National Quality Framework (NQF) for early childhood education and care.

The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority Chief Executive Officer Karen Curtis congratulated the Adelaide based service on its programs, practices and partnerships.

“Jescott Montessori Pre-school has forged two significant and ongoing partnerships that have improved learning opportunities for children at their service and across our sector, and this is the kind of collaboration we look for when awarding an Excellent rating,” Ms Curtis said.

JMP formed a partnership with Family Connections Hackham, a community organisation that supports children from disadvantaged backgrounds through playgroups, after school care and support groups.

“The educators worked collaboratively to develop training and professional development resources for Family Connections Hackham,” Ms Curtis said.

“It is clear the professional relationships forged during this process will continue to benefit educators across both organisations and importantly, the children at the service.”

A second partnership with the Montessori Australia Foundation is further evidence of JMP’s commitment to working collaboratively. Through this partnership, JMP became a reliable source of information and knowledge on the implementation of the NQF, specifically on impacts for the Montessori sector. Educators from JMP shared this knowledge with the wider education and care sector through conferences, workshops and contributing content to early education publications.

“I commend Jescott Montessori Pre-school on these partnerships, which inspire learning right across our sector,” Ms Curtis said.

Services that receive an overall rating of ‘Exceeding the National Quality Standard’ can apply for the Excellent rating.
