Scotch College Early Learning Centre (ELC) in South Australia has been awarded the Excellent rating by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
The centre demonstrated excellence in a range of areas including inclusive partnerships with children and families; practice and environments that enhance children’s learning and growth; and sustained commitment to professional development and support of educators.
ACECQA Board Chair, Rachel Hunter congratulated Scotch College ELC on its Excellent rating.
“We are pleased to award the Excellent rating to Scotch College ELC for its outstanding practice and commitment to delivering quality outcomes for children and families,” Ms Hunter said.
“The Excellent rating recognises services that have demonstrated outstanding dedication to quality and the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education and Care principles, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement in our sector.
“Thank you to the educators at Scotch College ELC for their continued efforts to raise the bar on quality education and care, and to provide children with a better start in life,” Ms Hunter said.
Scotch College ELC encourages strong relationships with its local community. It prides itself on its close connections with the Junior School and College, regularly taking part in shared activities and lessons as part of its transition and peer support programs. These relationships help nurture a sense of ‘belonging’ to the service, creating stronger bonds between educators and children.
The centre’s hands-on approach to environmental education also sees children from the service frequently visiting the College grounds and farm, where they are able to explore different habitats, observe wildlife and participate in imaginative activities and scientific investigations.
Scotch College ELC is the 20th education and care service to receive the Excellent rating since it was introduced just over 12 months ago.
