Actively working towards a diploma level qualification

You are considered actively working towards an approved diploma level qualification if you can provide documentary evidence from the course provider to your approved provider that you are:

  • enrolled in the course and have started study
  • making satisfactory progress towards completing the course
  • meeting the requirements to maintain enrolment

AND you can satisfy one of the following:

  • hold at least an approved certificate III level qualification; OR
  • have completed the approved certificate III units set out below at (1) or (2); OR
  • have completed 30% of the units of an approved ECT qualification.

Educators that meet the above requirements can be counted as a diploma level educator for ratio purposes. This does not mean they can be counted as an early childhood teacher.

If you are 'actively working towards' an approved certificate III or early childhood teaching (ECT) qualification you may also be counted towards qualification requirements.
